Fullness
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
- John 10:10 NIV
I am so full.
Full of cupcakes? Yes. Full of mashed potatoes? Yes, those also. (I just ate a ton of food today at a training thing for my church, and I may have overeaten a little, okay?)
I am filled with delicious treats but I'm also experiencing this intense feeling of "fullness" in life in general today, so I thought I'd take a moment to capture some of these thoughts and feelings.
Because yes, I am so full. And at the same time, I am also single.

WHAT?!
That's right, folks. I am full and I am single. I may be currently lacking in the life-partner department but overflowing in just about every other part of my life because my God is a GOOD Father who longs to be gracious to me. He is blessing me left and right.
Will I face hardships? Absolutely. Will I always feel like I'm walking on rainbows? I guess not.
But I have friends and family that LOVE me out of this overflow of love they have from their relationships with Jesus, and they build me up and encourage me every single day. Wow. I am drowning in goodness. Or, as Jesus puts it, "I have life, and have it to the full."
I didn't sit down to write this to brag about my life, but rather give THANKS for all that God has been doing in it.
I don't want to get caught up in the loneliness that surrounds me of this world, especially the kind that plagues people that are in the season I'm in... the single one. Instead, I choose to remember.
I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
12 I will consider all your works
and meditate on all your mighty deeds.
- Psalm 77:11-12 NIV
I think it's really, really easy to fall into the temptation to wallow in self-pity. I think this because I do it (often) and I'm not proud of it.
No matter where you are or what you're doing, though, you can make the choice to recognize and remember the good deeds of the LORD. Even the "little things." I know it sounds cliche but as we approach Thanksgiving (which is my favorite holiday, by the way!), I want us all to be able to give thanks for all the ways in which we are blessed and full and thriving. For example...
I have a Savior who rescued me and forgives me and blesses me. I have a roof over my head and clothes to keep me warm.
And... (if I haven't mentioned it already...) food in my belly. Thanks be to God!
